1. I am so excited for my girls to get here. Even though we’ll be together for only twenty hours or so, I can’t WAIT! NKOTB, here we come! (Again!)

2. I’m driving home to Ohio on Friday morning. I drop the girls off at the airport at 6:30 AM, then I’ll pack and hit the road. Baby Shower and grandparent visits are planned.

3. Ana. Sneezes. At night. In my face. I don’t like it.

4. Ummm… weird question: what are girl cat nipples supposed to look like? Ana has funny looking nipples – I’M SORRY! They’re skinny and long-like. Weird, right? But maybe I just don’t know girls.

5. I realized on Sunday that I’d seen 44 of the 100 American Film Institute’s top movies. Make that 45 because I just finished watching Bridge over the River Kwai. Wow. I think I saw it as a kid, but I’m glad I watched it again as an adult – it’s a great movie. Really, really great. Next up: The Grapes of Wrath.

6. On that note, if you don’t have Netflix, I highly recommend it. While I’m waiting for one movie to arrive, I watch one or two more on the Internet. Next on Netflix online: Casablanca.

7. I need to finish Jeanne’s blanket. Like… pronto.

8. Marie wants me to start digital scrapbooking. Hmmm… another hobby.

9. Oh! Ana has a meow. Barely. It is even more pathetic than Mariah’s meow. She’s tried about three times, and each time I know that she’s meowing more because I can see it rather than hear it.

10. I almost forgot: READER POLL. Where can I get decent crab cakes to go that will last the drive (chilled) to Ohio? I need something easy and local, but not cheap-o. Help. It’s for my grandpa.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I’m officially out of the mystery pasta-soup I made this weekend. It wasn’t that bad considering I just threw a bunch of stuff in a pot. I ate it for days and days. Now I have to cook again. Ugh. Mom – you’re GOYA rice and beans are next up.
2. Antonio is acting better. Last night he destroyed a toy and left fuzz all over the living room. That’s my dog.
3. TV on Tuesdays sucks.
4. My house is really still. I never realized how much cats provide a “white noise” to a house. Now when Antonio and I are just laying down, it’s super silent. No kitty nails on the linoleum. No sound of cat eating hard food and dropping pieces of it all over my kitchen floor. It’s just quiet. I’m not sure I like it.
5. I finished one of the scarfs I am making for Christmas. I tried to add blue colors to it but it looked super tacky. I’m considering a few other ideas to fancy it up. Suggestions welcome.
6. I need to decide when I’m going home for Christmas. Dear Ohio friends – when are you going to be there, please?
7. I hit a crying roadblock today. I’ve actually reached a point where I can’t even tear up. I can’t possibly be all cried out. I’m not ready yet. My mom said that I may be enjoying mourning. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’m not ready to move on. I almost want to cry more and now I can’t. Does that make sense?
8. The cream and green blanket that I am crocheting has been named the Elliott blanket for his white fur and green eyes. It’s now larger than a table runner, but not yet remotely close to a usable blanket. ‘cept to ‘tonio.
9. Antonio has a new collar. Nice, huh?
10. I’m going to lie down with my dog, now…

Ten on Tuesday

1. My floors are dirty. Dirty from the work the landlord is doing. I’ll live, I know. But it’s really driving me buggy.
2. But… beer is delicious.
3. I had a dentist appointment last week for a regular cleaning – all is well. But I’m trying to begin a strict regime of brushing and flossing before bed. Ugh. Flossing. I admit I’m a bad flosser, but I’ve flossed everyday since my cleaning. Here’s to keeping the faith.
4. Speaking of faith – how crazy is this polygamy raid? I mean, not that we don’t know it happens… of course we do. But it’s damn inspiring to watch the government do something about it, isn’t it? This is going to take a long time to play out, and I know I’ll be very interested to see what happens.
5. Oh. I have my annual review tomorrow. The magic 8 ball says “all signs point to yes.” I wish I knew what the question was.
6. OMG. Cindy made me the cutest purse. The lighting in my apartment stinks right now, so here’s the photo she took. Do you LOVE it or what? THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, CINDY!!
7. I might have to heart David Cook on American Idol. I got nervous when I heard he was going to sing “Always Be My Baby,” by Mariah, but it was pretty fierce, wasn’t it? Wow.
8. The Caps. Are losing. I don’t think my prayers and candle lighting made any difference. Dammit.
9. I haven’t eaten yet… and my head hurts. I bet those two things are related. But I want me some nachos… and I don’t have nachos here.
10.What? You want an update on my deck? Okay!!

This is of the new support across the roof (the newer wood). My landlord says that this middle post will be taken down once he “tresses” the roof. Uh huh. Okay.

He also started framing out the balcony. This shows the framed wood over the drainage system, as well as some of the first floorboards (on the side/corner).

Slowly but surely…

Ten on Tuesday

1. My BFF today is KATIE. Do you see what she brought me from ENGLAND? Do you see? Do you see?? A COSTA mug! HOW COOL IS THAT!? Apparently, Costa Coffee is a coffee shop in the UK. I love them. I want one… (a franchise, I mean. Because obviously I already have a mug.)
2. I heart David Archuleta. And David Cook. And Carly Smithson. Weren’t they great, tonight?
3. I may start watching OZ the TV show tomorrow. Now that I’ve finished The Sopranos, my friend and I are moving on to OZ. I’m not sure it can match The Sopranos, but the ending has to be better, right? And Edie Falco is in it, so it’ll almost be like watching spin-off… well, minus all the man love. There wasn’t much of that in The Sopranos.
4. Elliott should be a happy camper with his new cat food. The number one ingredient is SALMON. Not chicken. Not chicken-by-product. But yummy salmon. Unfortunately, I just threw him in a cold shower again. Yep. So much for gratitude.
5. Bertucci’s may be growing on me. I went there on Sunday and the leftovers are delicious. Maybe I have to give that place another shot… I don’t want to keep bein’ a hater.
6. So going back to #1, I love this mug. Did I mention that? Like I LOVE it, love it. Like I might overuse it kind of love it. You know, I wasn’t the kid who ever had lots of pens, magnets, and other things with my name on it… so even though this is my last name, HOW COOL IS THIS???? C’mon!
7. Have I mentioned that Katie likes RUGBY, suddenly? Strange…
8. OMG I need to clean. I need to clean, and Marie needs to have a baby.
9. Is it possible that I have minimal plans for the weekend? Anyone want to get a group together and go see The Other Boleyn Girl? I really, really want to see this movie but no one is talking about it. Anyone?
10. OH! And guess what premiers in 26 minutes????? THE RICHES ON FX! GO AND TUNE IN NOW!

Ten on Tuesday

1. I called about my car today and the body work is already done. Tomorrow my car is third in line for alignment. They still haven’t driven it around to see how it runs. On one hand I want my car back, but on the other hand – please make sure it’s totally fixed!
2. This week is long already. Really? It’s only Tuesday?
3. I know it’s wrong that I am watching Rock of Love with Brett Michaels. It’s sick, right? It’s almost as bad as watching Anna Nicole, but instead I have my fascination with Brett’s headbands to keep me going…
4. I’m sleepy.
5. I have downsized my Sprint plan, my Netflix plan, and made a few changes to my payment schedules to make room for this car payment. Rules for Spring 2008? Less drinking, less eating out, less shopping.
6. I know this must mean more dating. I’m sure of it.
7. I’ve had really intense dreams two nights in a row. Sunday night – Hannibal Lector lived in my house. That was horrific. Last night – flooding… lots of flooding (although I think it was inspired by Life After People on the History Channel).
8. I should go to bed.
9. Big Brother 9 starts in a few weeks. Can you believe it? Rumor is that it has been thrown together due to the writer’s strike, and there’s very little information available out there regarding what this season will involve. UGH! And YAY!
10. I should have had popcorn tonight.
