It will be interesting to see how many people actually respond to this since my daily readers have hovered around 40 for the last two months… maybe the Susan Boyle fans are still here? (They did good things for the stats!)
Anyway… The Poll: If one wanted to know what’s going on in Afghanistan – you know, the whole “Operating Enduring Freedom” thing – would you choose:
- “Politics” or “US & World” on MSNBC?
OR
- “World” or “Politics” on CNN?
Um, thanks, news folks for the easy access to either of the two wars we’re fighting. It certainly doesn’t feel like “politics” that we have thousands of troops in other countries fighting battles daily (but maybe it is), and yet “world” is an awfully generic category as well. I mean, should an update on Afghanistan really be next to “Dubai renames tallest building…” or “Seoul battles heaviest snow in 70 years”?
As per usual, most good, God-fearing Americans have forgotten about current events which don’t affect them directly, and it seems that most people are so disinterested in Afghanistan and Iraq at this point that there’s no need to make it easily accessible on news sites. Crazy stuff, friends… crazy stuff. And that’s all I have on that subject.

A. Love Song by Sara Bareilles
B. Single Ladies by Beyonce
C. Alone by Heart
D. Something else… tell me.

1. I am so excited for my girls to get here. Even though we’ll be together for only twenty hours or so, I can’t WAIT! NKOTB, here we come! (Again!)
2. I’m driving home to Ohio on Friday morning. I drop the girls off at the airport at 6:30 AM, then I’ll pack and hit the road. Baby Shower and grandparent visits are planned.
3. Ana. Sneezes. At night. In my face. I don’t like it.
4. Ummm… weird question: what are girl cat nipples supposed to look like? Ana has funny looking nipples – I’M SORRY! They’re skinny and long-like. Weird, right? But maybe I just don’t know girls.
5. I realized on Sunday that I’d seen 44 of the 100 American Film Institute’s top movies. Make that 45 because I just finished watching Bridge over the River Kwai. Wow. I think I saw it as a kid, but I’m glad I watched it again as an adult – it’s a great movie. Really, really great. Next up: The Grapes of Wrath.
6. On that note, if you don’t have Netflix, I highly recommend it. While I’m waiting for one movie to arrive, I watch one or two more on the Internet. Next on Netflix online: Casablanca.
7. I need to finish Jeanne’s blanket. Like… pronto.
8. Marie wants me to start digital scrapbooking. Hmmm… another hobby.
9. Oh! Ana has a meow. Barely. It is even more pathetic than Mariah’s meow. She’s tried about three times, and each time I know that she’s meowing more because I can see it rather than hear it.
10. I almost forgot: READER POLL. Where can I get decent crab cakes to go that will last the drive (chilled) to Ohio? I need something easy and local, but not cheap-o. Help. It’s for my grandpa.

Today has been good so far. I canceled my Verizon DSL (any minute now…), found out that my Sprint PCS plan has FINALLY expired (I’m going Verizon), admitted that I lost a coworker’s Fast Park pass (and ordered us both new ones), and I’m still planning on exercising tonight (soon, too… before I lose momentum).
I feel like I accomplished things. Oh! And my work email inbox was at 50 emails when I left. HOO-AH! I know, I’m cool… and you wanna be like me.
That said, I need assistance. I am considering the DARE, the VOYAGER or the enV2 from Verizon, but leaning towards the DARE because it’s shiny, thin, and touch screen. All rank higher than 4/5 on phonescoop.com. Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions? Tell me now – it’s probably all going down within the next two weeks. Help!

Working again at the DC tonight I was reminded about this moment of irritability I had a few months back. Oh, the memories… the bars, the boys, but I especially miss my social life. I think I had one once.
I’m thinking I should have a contest for the most clever short joke you can come up with. (Yes, Joe… I expect you to contribute.) What do you say? Think about it. Mull it over. Can you come up with anything clever? Anything better than, “wow. you’re short.” Or, “are you even tall enough to ride roller coasters?” Or better yet, “do you have to sit on a phone book to drive a car?” The prize will be… well, hell… maybe I’ll have a contest for that, too. For now your reward will be pride – pride that you’ve come up with a short joke that I actually think is funny.
So what are you waiting for?
